I’ve seen it happen. You probably have too. The couples who fall apart after having kids because they focus so much on the children and forget about each other. I am determined that that not happen to us. And with Olive’s birth so near our anniversary, I decided to make a creative gift. Back when I first had Olive, I promised my birth story. Well, here it finally is. It’s amazing how little I accomplish with a newborn around, after all. I follow these bloggers who still manage to sew a million adorable outfits and whatnot. Sometimes it’s an accomplishment to have showered that day. Today is our fourth anniversary. I can’t believe it was four years ago that I was getting ready for my wedding: It’s amazing how quickly things change. Back then we were living in Valdez, Alaska. We’d known each other only nine months. Now we’re in Oregon. We’re parents. It feels as At our local university (yay for Eastern Oregon University!), they hold regular concerts, plays, and the like. One event they do every year is a themed concert that is built around a particular decade. Each year they move up. Two years ago it was the 1960s and the vocalists dressed all mod and hippie style. Dear Olive, You are due to arrive in my arms in less than five weeks. We all know, though, that you will be your mother’s daughter and do things in your own time and in your own way. You will all your life. I know this because of your wild antics in my womb. I  |
